Tim Atkin MW – 2021 South African Report
UK based wine journalist and critic Tim Atkin’s 2021 South African Report once again delivered some valuable results for Kanonkop.
Now in its 9th edition, this report serves as an industry benchmark for South African wines, and the detailed entries make it one of the most authoratitive reports of its kind.
Over a 1000 wines are tasted and scored using the 100-point scale, and to date only a handful of wines have been awarded the prestigious 100-point score, of which Kanonkop’s Paul Sauer 2015 was the very first recipient some 4 years ago.
These scores are immensely valuable to create an industry standard of the country’s best performing wines of the year, with wines scoring 90 points or more being regarded as the cream of the crop.
Kanonkop is proud to say that all our red wines scored 90 points and more, with the Black Label Pinotage 2019 and Paul Sauer 2018 taking the spoils with a score of 96 points each.
